Hearts 1914 Memorial Soldier Maquette

Made to order, a beautiful cold cast bronze resin replica sculpture of the 1914 soldier statue erected at Tynecastle in 2016.

Sculpture measurements: Height 320mm, Width 150mm, Depth 130mm

The original statue was commissioned and funded by the 1914 Memorial Trust Committee, as a tribute to the Hearts players who signed up for WW1 alongside other sportsmen, in November 1914. Cast by Edinburgh’s Powderhall Bronze Ltd, and sculpted by Brian Caster, the statue overlooks the Forever in our Hearts Memorial Garden.

Each replica cold cast bronze resin sculpture is made to order by Powderhall Foundry. The statue has a marble base and a brass engraved plate reading ‘1914 Memorial. The Bravest Team’.

The statue depicts a proud young man in his Royal Scots uniform, ready for the fight in France, he also carries something close to his heart, his football. The marble base holds a brass engraved plate with the exact words inscribed on the original statue. The soldiers bayonet is removable, for safety, so can be displayed with or without.

Each sculpture comes securely packaged in a cardboard box padded with recyclable packaging peanuts made from a recycled material.
